"Sad Return To Home"
Background Story
On
the 22nd of November 1963 he returned to his own country. A
strong wind blew. He was then 66 years old. He was
a
bedridden old man in a vegetative state. He had lived in
Japan
for 56 years. His sad past was finally over. He
returned as
an ordinary person. He said to himself, "I want to breathe
the
air of my own country. I want to smell its soil. I
want to
feel the warmth of my own people in my heart. I want to stand
on
my own country's soil with my own feet. I want to scream, I
have
come back now! Just now!"
However, it echoed within his heart. No answer came back to
him.
Description
The
end of the civil war is celebrated in the background of this robe with
the color of serenity, green. The Prince nestled in the
warmth
of his own country and is evident in the dragon's peaceful face.
His illness is symbolized by the whiteness of his eyes.
As
he still has no power or property I have used the colors white and
gray for his body. The people jubilantly welcomed their
much-loved Prince home. They sympathized with his tragic life
and
they too are portrayed in white thread, no longer hugging the shadows,
but spreading out and rising up to meet the Prince.
