"Journey's End"
Background Story
The
Prince exclaimed, "How difficult life is! A happy life is
short.
A sad and lonely life is tiresomely long. Although
life is
solitary and unhappy, we should live. It is not necessary to
kill
ourselves. We should not disturb it. There will
always be
difficulties in life, but this is natural. Life is gained
through
overcoming these difficulties."
The altar was filled with flowers offered to mark the passing of his
life. The Prince looked down from his photo above the altar
as
the smell of incense spread throughout the room. Was he
regretting his past?
"I cannot say that I was a pure Cho-Sun person. But, I was
not a Japanese. Where can my soul rest?"
Description
The
ascension of the Prince's spirit to heaven is symbolized by the
dragon's whiteness, just a little soiled to remind us of his tragic
past. No other color is used as he is no longer embodied in a
physical form, only his soul rises. He is shrouded in the
mist of a
fine cloud. Korea is peaceful and becoming prosperous and so
I have
used a violet background for this final robe.
